Transparency time!! After almost ten years on the site, it’s time for me to close my Etsy shop, which sold stationery, bookish goodies, and letters. I was so focused on making something that people would want, that I lost sight of myself as an artist. I completely refunded all outstanding orders. On the more practical or, shall we say, realistic side of things … this shop was a sinkhole for funds 😂😂 I poured my heart and soul and wallet into this shop 😂 It was a fun hobby, but at the end of the day I was hemorrhaging money. Some people might say it’s in bad taste to be so frank about the brass tacks, but I’m going to say it anyway - because it took me ten years to see the “sunk cost” fallacy in the mirror. This doesn’t mean I’m going to stop making art or stop writing my books. Just that I had to take a hard reality check. And honestly once I hit the “close shop” button … I felt nothing but relief. Time to close this chapter, and on to the next.
